An anti-acne, skin-softening toner with a healthy concentration of beta-hydroxy acid, an effective anti-acne and anti-inflammatory, oil-soluble exfoliant.

With skin-conditioning citric acid and refreshing pineapple extract (patch-tested for safety).

Because salicylic acid is oil-soluble, it works at your skin's most sebum-rich areas: the pores' inner walls. There, it gives pores a profound spring cleaning: removing deep-seated dirt and excess oils.

Firms up skin and tightens pores. Actively clears up acne, ingrown hair, chicken skin, shaving/waxing/plucking bumps, and other forms of folliculitis. Quickly lessens swelling and dries up pimples.

NOTE: If your acne is very large, inflamed or widespread, consult a dermatologist before pursuing any topical skin care.

To Use:

Moisten (do not soak) cotton applicator with Toner. Swipe gently over face, neck, chest, arms, back, thighs, and/or posterior as needed. Avoid mucosal (wet) areas of genitalia, eyes, nostrils + mouth.

Daytime: Follow with Armada Sun + Light Screen every day, whether indoors or outdoors + whether or not this Toner has been applied on a given day.

IMPORTANT: Start using 2x-a-week only. Very slowly increase to 3x-a-week, then 1x-every-other-day, etc. until you achieve 2x-a-day usage (no earlier than week 8 of therapy). DO NOT RUSH. Click here for an Application Frequency Chart.

1ST-TIMERS: Some first-time users of Id may experience an initial reaction of a slight redness or mild stinging, or an initial acne breakout (if your pores have not been deep cleaned at this level, Id's first action is to bring existing pore cloggers to the surface; with continued, proper use and prevention, your pores' deeper cleaned state is maintained).

With correct use-slowly increasing application frequency, using hypoallergenic support products, and following all instructions carefully-this initial reaction quickly disappears. If it does occur, stop use for one week, and restart therapy at the beginning, with 2x-a-week applications.

Notes:

If your acne is very large, inflamed or widespread, consult a dermatologist before pursuing any topical skin care.

1) Men: What Skin Care Should We Use? - I'm a man and new to skin care ... what should I use?

If you're of the burlier sex and shopping at VMV, use whatever you want to!

All skin - across genders, races, and ages - may look different, but skin is fundamentally the same at the cellular level. That is, under a microscope, skin cells are skin cells. Dark skin and light skin share much the same cellular make up; the difference is in how the cells behave (the cells of darker skin produce more pigment, for example). Even baby skin cells are surprisingly developed, with hair follicles already cycling at a very young age.

2) Acne: Anti-Acne Therapy ... At What Age Can I Start? - Depending on the treatment, you can start anti-acne therapy fairly early on. In fact, for those who seem like possible candidates for hereditary acne (if the family tends to suffer from acne), starting early is recommended because it serves as preemptive treatment, either preventing the problem from occurring or lessening its intensity. See see "What Causes Acne" in Acne Help in the VMV Knowledge Base. VMV's Superskin 1, Superskin 2 and Superskin 3 Toners are excellent for acne therapy-they also have other benefits like skin-renewing exfoliation, and can be started from as early as 9 years old.
