VMV HYPOALLERGENICS™ Electronic Gift Certificates purchased on vmvhypoallergenics.com may only be redeemed online. We apologize but for the moment, electronic gift skintificates cannot be redeemed in any of our VMV Skin-Specialist Boutiques around the world.
To redeem your electronic gift certificate, please follow the following steps:
- Register or sign into your account on www.vmvhypoallergenics.com. This is necessary in order to activate and validate your Electronic Gift Certificate and ensure its authenticity.
- Select the items you wish to purchase at www.vmvhypoallergenics.com by adding them to your shopping bag.
When you view your shopping bag, please enter your unique electronic gift certificate code and then click Check Out. The electronic gift certificate will be applied to your purchase . If your order total exceeds your balance, you will be asked for a valid credit card to complete your purchase.
REMEMBER TO ADD [email protected] to your Contacts List or Address Book. This prevents your VMV e-Gift Skintificate from automatically being directed to your e-mail program’s Spam or Junk folder.

Sampling Program Top ^
Many of our clients come to us with long lists of ingredients to avoid. What we normally suggest for customers who have very allergic/sensitive skin is to try samples before purchasing full-sized products. Many of our products come in sample sizes that you can purchase. And should you do decide to shop our full-sized products, you enjoy free samples with every order you place—so you can try other products as you shop trusty favorites.

Most of our products come in standard samples but for those that do not (such as for most of our makeup), they are currently in development. We are working hard to offer sample sizes of all VMV HYPOALLERGENICS™ products in the future.
To add a sample to your order:
- Visit the detail page of the product you are interested in and click on the size options. If it is available, SAMPLE will be listed among our regular sizes.
- Select SAMPLE size and Add to Bag. Note: While a price will appear next to the SAMPLE size, your first three samples are free with your online purchase. Your 3 free samples with purchase will appear with a price of $0 during Check Out.
- You can do this up to three times to enjoy free samples with your purchase. Any additional samples will be charged at the price listed.
Your shipment may also include a complimentary copy of our InSkin magazine, created by VMV HYPOALLERGENICS™ as knowledgable reading for the skinfatuated skintellectual.
Customized Products Top ^
We remove most or all known allergens based on the publications of the North American Contact Dermatitis Group (extended allergen series) and the European Surveillance System of Contact Allergies (standard series). But you may be sensitive to something that isn’t an allergen. If you can’t find exactly what your skin needs among our currently available products, VMV HYPOALLERGENICS™ offers product customization — formulations made according to your particular patch test results or preferences. Read on more for details.
Pricing Guidelines:
A Basic Customization Fee of $70 is required. Why is this?
Basic Customization includes: formulation/sourcing/testing costs.
This applies to “normal” customizations. If VMV, at its own discretion, decides that a particular customization is a complex request, we reserve the right to adjust the Customization Fee. This will be communicated to you before we proceed with customization.
Basic Customization normally means the slight modification of one of our stock products, such as (for example): A lipstick without a particular ingredient but of a shade that we already carry. A shampoo without a particular ingredient.
For Basic Customization, we use our existing formulation as the main reference. Should further changes in texture, effect, etc. than that of the original formulation be desired, the project may require a change to an Advanced Customization Fee (should this occur, we would send you the Advanced Customization Fee for approval prior to charging you or continuing with the customization).
Advanced Customization Fees begin at $100 and are variable depending on the complexity of the customization required.
Advanced Customization includes: formulation/sourcing/testing costs and up to 2 sample shipments. Extra sampling will require you to cover additional shipping costs and may require an increase in your Advanced Customization Fee (should this occur, we would send you the additional costs for approval prior to charging you or continuing with the customization).
Advanced Customization means a new product we do not currently carry or a product with enough modifications to warrant more complex reformulation or sourcing of ingredients, such as (for example): A product that we do not currently carry, including makeup shades that we do not currently carry. A cleanser that requires the modification of more than 1 ingredient.
A shampoo that requires the replacement of an ingredient with another that is difficult to source or that requires extensive trial and error to produce a stable formulation. VMV, at its own discretion, will decide if a customization is complex or simple. Upon evaluating the project, we shall contact you for your approval prior to charging you or continuing with the customization.
Remember: Advanced Customization Fees are variable depending on the complexity of the customization required.
Reorder Customization Fee: $20.
A Reorder Customization Fee is applied to repeat orders of a previously customized product (yours or someone else’s).
Your customization fee is determined by VMV at its discretion after we receive your particular request. You are not charged any fees until you approve our customization fee.
Minimum Order Requirement
In addition to the Customization Fee, a minimum purchase of three (3) pieces of the resulting customized products at the retail price of a comparable stock product is required.
For example, a lipstick with a shimmer or glimmer texture is similar to a Glitz Lipstick which retails at $24. If you customize a shade of a shimmer lipstick, you would be charged: The $70 Customization Fee + the minimum order of 3 resulting customized lipsticks at $24 each ($24 x 3 = 72), for a total of $142.
In the case of makeup, the 3 products must be of the same shade.
If you would like additional pieces above the minimum 3 pieces for each order, each additional piece is charged at the regular retail price.
For reorders of customized products, the minimum order of 3 units per product/shade still applies.
Other Important Information:
PRODUCT CUSTOMIZATION IS OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS FOR THEIR PERSONAL USE ONLY. We do offer manufacturing and testing services separately. Please contact us at [email protected].
- The total of the Customization Fee is charged immediately upon your approval of the the project. Why is this?
- Customization fees are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Why is this?
- Resulting customized products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Why is this?
- Shipping costs of final products are charged separately. Our website occasionally offers shipping promotions. If a shipping promotion is linked to a qualifying purchase, the qualifying purchase cannot include Customization or Shipping Fees.)
Ordering Process:
Contact us through the Customer Service form here on our website. Please include:
Your name, phone number, and email.
The product you are interested in and what you would like customized. Please include as many details and specifics as possible.
If you’re not sure which ingredients to remove or replace, we suggest emailing or faxing us your patch test results. We’ll help you determine which ingredients (and its cross reactants) should be removed or replaced.
After acknowledging the receipt of your request, we’ll study your requirements and send you a proposal that includes the Customization Fee, expected timeline and other details.
Once you approve our proposal, you will be charged 100% of the total of the Customization Fee + minimum 3 products.
For Advanced Customization, a maximum of 2 sample shipments will be sent to you at no additional charge for your comments and approval.Your approved samples will be used as the basis for finalization of your product.
Once final products are ready for shipment, we will contact you for your approval regarding shipping charges.
Once your approval is obtained, we will charge your credit card and ship out your products.
All customized product sales (customization fees and customized products) are considered final and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Why is this?
Customized orders require the time and attention of formulators and lab technicians, as well as costs associated with standard tests that include microbiological safety and shelf life, that cannot be recouped. The customization fee covers these and other costs that inherently come with the customization process.
